Building the Talent pipeline will focus on innovative approaches to prepare students for the workforce and bridge the gap between education and career readiness. The session will share examples of authentic learning experiences, such as internships, co-op programs, and apprenticeships, that connect students to real-world opportunities and industry partnerships aligned curriculum with industry needs and workforce-ready skills. Attendees will gain insights and strategies for creating meaningful partnerships between educational institutions and employers to empower students with the skills and competencies needed for successful career transitions and contribute to building a strong talent pipeline.
Speakers
Lori Messi
Lori Mesi is an education professional with 18 years of experience serving in various roles. Currently she serves as Coordinator of Secondary Pathways and Partnerships and before that as Coordinator of Academies, both for Dublin City Schools. Prior to joining Dublin, Lori was a Career Pathways Specialist and an Assistant Principal in South-Western City Schools and a Dean of Students and English teacher in Marysville Schools. In each of her roles, Lori’s focus has been dedicated to facilitating learning opportunities for all students so that they can reach their potential, especially in the areas of post-secondary readiness and success; she believes collaborative leadership and strong partnerships with stakeholders are essential in helping achieve this goal. Lori is currently pursuing her Ed.D in Leadership and Organizational Innovation to further her abilities as a leader and continue to serve her district and community.
