Speakers

Kara Pontius

Transitioning from the world of business, Kara entered career tech education in 2017 as a Career Services Specialist where she helped to provide career exploration and planning services to K-12 students. She was presented an opportunity to support Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools students and staff with work-based learning in 2021, where she was responsible for converting the district’s WBL program from paper processes to a digital management system. She provided professional development to staff, students, and business partners regarding work-based learning processes in an effort to bridge the gap between classroom instruction and workforce industry needs. Currently, Kara is serving school districts across the United States to scale and optomize their work-based learning programs by implementing best practices for staff, students, and business partners, while also supporting those programs through implementation of the WBL management program, Transeo.
